the decision by texas to mass deport illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, thereby concentrating them in those cities to the cities' detrimental in a highly visible way, is probably the most effective policy innovation enacted by a state in living memory https://t.co/05bKtVhDaa

it's a constitutionally protected move by texas, it's probably effective in removing unwanted immigrants from texas, and it forces sanctuary cities to back up their cheap talk on policy preferences by bearing the costs of those policies directly

is there any reason they don't do this with released convicts "we also believe in giving felons a second chance in cities with Enlightened Justice Systems so if you guys want here's a bus ticket to NYC and $100. we'll even let you out early and waive parole. good luck"

im not sure congress would do anything even if they could congress is pretty blocked up rn and this would be a partisan issue AND probably cause rifts in the Dems also worth noting this would actually help dem party machines via the curley effect https://t.co/nTnO2tKXfl
