ignoring this is planning to lose https://t.co/uHvClUsM6d

yes guys, you can take out x drones. can you take out 1000x economically? https://t.co/gQPaVcZNLG

i'm not saying we're at the endgame here, the meta is... evolving https://t.co/8889UqhVUc

yeah there are lots of programs funded i really don't mean to be saying they are literally ignoring this i mean to say that the degree of investment, understanding, and deployment (a mere $6 bn over a decade), nothing in taiwain, no significant domestic drone manufacturing is tantamount to ignoring it; perfunctory insufficient efforts akin to vs climate change or pandemics circa 2015-2019

US miltech cheerleaders tried to dunk on me with this article, which basically makes exactly my point idk https://t.co/0L5ISjNgVK https://t.co/lehRctwTsM

this article that you cite makes exactly my point by "ignoring it" i mean taking so far too weak action to counterveil the threat. you can see the problem baked in in the enormous gulf in competitiveness in electronics manufacturing between the US and China. it's massive. the US knows that, but are too proud to admit this collectively. we even allowed manufacture of surgical masks to bleed out and return to china

just use lasers. just is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence! here is the state of play https://t.co/uOkKq0TM8D

look, yes, i actually know about this, i work on compact power systems. 10 kW lasers held steady against a drone disabled in 8 seconds. the 50 kW system that lockheed just debuted will take more than a second. yes, their ship mounted 500 kw laser in development may be able to get it down to fractions of a second. that's not milliseconds, and how many of them are there out there. 0 right now. https://t.co/iETHvIgd32

the point is that the countermeasures are being deployed at 1/1000th the scale and speed that would be necessary for success, much like perfunctory efforts towards climate change or pandemic defense. the point is that as much as there's interest in this it is basically at a level of complacency that will guarantee a loss in the opening chapter of a war

stealth drone hunter should be able to hear the damn things from 10s of miles away https://t.co/sY2yHfbc6I

@Dara_S_Ryan @TedWarring having pentagon programs on this is great but doesn't manifest an electronics manufacturing juggernaut or deployments. just like having the initial research doesn't give us manufacturing leadership in solar or batteries

americacels posting cope about this, when they should be rallying action https://t.co/UHFdnqSsIg

ah here we go https://t.co/0agvq4RZ62

@DanielleFong I doubt these are EW resistant. NATO jammer could probably take them out easily, though they would be devastating to less advanced enemies. Still, eventually these will be autonomous, and then jammers won't work
