imo: if youโ€™re deliberate about โ€œdoing the readingโ€, whatever that means for any domain, within a year itโ€™s possible to be in the top ~5% in the scene. This is because 95% of people donโ€™t do the reading https://t.co/cGLCJf3hQV

I became a filmbro faster than expected. It literally just takes a year. Watch 4-8 movies a week for a year and you will eventually dig deep enough to discover something odd that really hits the spot. Now ur a filmbro with alternative taste & esoteric recommendations

this rhymes a lil with how tiny startups unseat massive incumbent corporations because theyโ€™re small groups of people that actually do the work, vs large groups of people mostly going to meetings, sending each other emails, starting new products just to shut them downโ€ฆ Etc etc

@visakanv there are those that work great! but you need to run it seriously, @qorprate ran a Freud/Lacan reading group like a college professor teaching a class and it worked great

@visakanv I have done this & I'm kind of able to go toe to toe with actual professors so this is anecdata that this works
