land can't actually be "purchased". what you can do is give money to someone, and they can agree to go away, or to sign a paper that will make a nation-state violently eject them if they don't go away but you're not paying for the land. it was never for sale https://t.co/q894DWSi5W

just because i paid $10 for a vegetable, doesn't mean my obligation to it is over it didn't come from just the grocery story, or even the farmer it came from the earth, the same stuff my body is made of and living with it's nice to finally begin living in reciprocity with it

you can't own land. the land belongs to the earth. what you pay for is the exclusion of other people in a world too small for everyone to be on the land they want

some communities, they steward land collectively. you don't "own" land or "pay" for it, but the community will help you enforce other the exclusion of other people bit within the community

what we commonly understand as property right is not really "owning" land; it's owning rights within the system to exclude other people. land cannot be owned. it was not made by you, and does not belong to you

there is no treaty you can sign with nature, to make it sell itself over to you, as if it was some slave, that had signed its body over to you, and now you could do whatever you want with it

we commonly understand pets to work this way. just because you paid for a dog, doesn't mean you can do whatever with its body. it's the same with land, in certain cultures that see it that way anyway https://t.co/JQRCpVdtiu

just because we "bought" a dog, paid $500 for it to someone our current system recognises the dog as property of, doesn't mean we can do anything the dog we recognise we still have some obligation to the dog it's the same with objects. and fruits and vegetables
