man, i thought yann was joking it's kinda wild to be like elon, nobody will ever hear of your work, since you didn't publish https://t.co/nmUaxTHuRj

@DanielleFong Feels gatekeep-ey, but Iโm personally taking the point of โshare your work and methods so others can help test and build on itโ being a foundational aspect. Doesnโt have to be limited to โpublished, peer reviewed papers.โ Applies to work on general. AndโฆElon has done that. ๐

i clearly don't understand how technical innovation works ๐ https://t.co/Q5Q0xNIQjW https://t.co/5JDoK1g9fM

neither that. the proof is in the doing, and the communication of the means. every year, in hundreds of launches, millions of vehicles, in numerous AMAs and forums and on the web, Elonโs pushing the boundary of the possible. Nobody had ever seen the reentry of an orbital vehicle like this; to me, an image like this is science, if unconventional, science in the truest sense. of going out, experimenting, and sharing.

didn't quite expect this to go viral but that's the empirical approach ๐ Charles Darwin was doing science before he published his origins of spieces. He talked to people. When Wallace got close he was urged to publish, and did so. Yes this was a landmark in the history of science, and publishing was important. The open kimono approach of reusable rocketry with falcon 9 and starship is a similar way. i can't believe some of the people yelling at me about what science is, that I have no idea, that Elon has done none of the engineering in his own companies. I can't block power fast enough bros (gender neutral), you have no idea what you are talking about this kind of epistemic pollution, arrogating Science to the gatekeeping authority, only adds to the brain damage of the post covid era.

fair to post his response https://t.co/EyomtctB9K
