im in a class called "Tribal Food Systems", and honestly, for a class young STEM me would have dismissed, they intuitively and deeply get some of the things about relationality i would struggle to communicate to philosophers or psychologists over 5 years

e.g., i get weirded out by the very technic, academic, dare i say colonial interest in "sustainable agriculture", "organic food", "regenerative agriculture" it all strikes me as so left-hemisphere, and technic https://t.co/F1WojwDRYM

at a "regenerative syntropical agriculture farm" that a rich person bought and invited all their friends to to try to create exciting new projects with and until i just ran into some indigenous people who just happened to be walking around, i just felt ungrounded

even when the modern industrial urban academics have learned everything they think there is to know about ecology... when they have extracted all the knowledge about how to grow which vegetable where and when...

it feels like they will have missed something. like there's something non-negotiably spiritual here https://t.co/yjNI3toUJb

they'll have missed the way people relate to food. the living relationships between the people making, transporting, cooking, eating the food. it's all part of the food system

growing up as a guy in a modern, industrialised society, with plenty money—food is something i ordered in food felt like a swappable commodity. milk and eggs were just another one of the things you could order versus a complex chickpea dish or steak salad

they'll have missed all the relationality, because relationality wasn't real to them https://t.co/2PE9cEyLOK

society will keep being confused why men kill themselves until it learns to take spiritual and relational health seriously https://t.co/2nrOuCdSuN

obligation isn't real. it's an extraneous thing. not part of the "thing" because the scope of "things" here is entirely different https://t.co/w4Yd2qAfJH

to think our obligations end with the purchase is to mistake the system of private property we have set up with reality it's take the lines that define and trace that system are all that exist, and let them define all that exists for us it's sad. it's untenable. and it's inaccurate

a relationality that does not take money and individual survival and the view of all objects as dead as default and universal but has a memory of something else https://t.co/xroZ0olmau

money is a a form of reciprocity available to you when you have no other relationship to the person. no other time, energy, context for them, not even to buy them a nice dinner
