@Malcolm_Ocean zoom out to 200k years for all modern humanity. a somewhat similar thought i had once, upon doing some circling for the first time, is realizing that the whole world is the biggest circle, and we're just trying to figure out how to manage it well

@danielbrottman mood tho unlike a circle it doesn't actually have a set of shared agreements for when you step into it, so there's a need for a different kind of groundless negotiation

yeah! "arguably" in both cases! but re USA specifically... its origin story parallels "intentional communities" more than many countries, as a coming together of a bunch of people united by purpose. that elides lots of stuff but attitudinally feels right https://t.co/LJGXWCeF34
