once you have a mid-sized body of work, lets say ~200,000 words, you can start getting some interesting additional value out of rereading old material looking for phrases that have a surprising energy to them. i think this is something that will be difficult for chatgpt to do

you can do it with someone else's work, or ask someone else to do it for yours, but the secret sauce is basically emotional resonance, which requires having emotions and taste and life experience

you could theoretically do this after writing just one essay but imo you're better off first getting to like 20 essays before you get all recursive and meta about it. unless you know what you're doing, in which case you would roughly ignore everything i'm saying anyway
