oh, i get it. classical indian music was meant to be heard live. it doesn't make sense without it. the instruments can't do what they do to you they can't pulverise your bones or enwrap you in a tomb of sound https://t.co/J58l2xF4jF

i didn't find indian music beautiful for a long time, and it's because it's not, not in the western sense the system and sense in which they're beautiful are something else entirely https://t.co/YcnqcnhGbE

to a lesser extent, western classical music sounds better live to. the magnificence and subtlety modern pop music sounds better live too, but it was invented in a world of recorded music. it sounds okay even with the notes flattened. there's enough mental amusement

classical indian music instruments are whole body, pulverising experience every time i've never had an instrument like the harmonium https://t.co/Oy5FpvWPqV
