there's sth about the way people compare things that to me feels... unecological. like asking how does writing a book compare to having a child? both things are great in their own way and they each actually enrich the other. which cake ingredient do you prefer, eggs or flour?
i'm annoying like this about everything lol. what's your favorite book, game, piece of media. i can't say. each thing i enjoy is enriched by everything else. sometimes to appreciate a movie you have to watch a dozen others. to isolate one as superior is, again, unecological

@QiaochuYuan @visakanv my daughter refuses to choose favorites! If an adult asks her what he favorite or anything is, she looks them dead in the eye and forcefully says “ALL” she seems rather possessed in these moments? I’ve stopped asking about favorites but strangers do it and I love her conviction

another norm that I didn’t understand as a child was having a favorite stuffed animal that you’d had since you were born my friends all seemed to have these well-loved little stuffed friends, and i did not this made me feel like an outsider, so I set out to fix it…

@visakanv I feel this way whenever people talk about "social media addiction", or any addiction for that matter. What do you mean "addiction?" Don't you see how this is just a whole life? How can you take just one aspect of life and call it the bad part and then pathologize it?
