apparently physically active and physically inactive people expend about the same # of calories / day. the hypothesis is that as activity ramps up the body spends less energy on other stuff. and exercise might be good for you b/c that other stuff is *stress and inflammation* https://t.co/q03suMBe7M

@QiaochuYuan ...fuck this one was staring me right in the face. i even kept thinking about how adhd kids often eat more and clearly have much higher NEAT (fidgeting) to compensate but it didn't occur to me that the excess energy would obv hypercharge everything that is to say, thank youuuu 🙏

@not_a_hot_girl production of testosterone and estrogen which apparently can cause cancer if there's too much. that bit is interesting to ponder, like maybe being a blob also makes you excessively horny but it's hard to tell if you're also depressed, that sort of matches my experience

@QiaochuYuan @not_a_hot_girl checks out. tweet below concerns no porn but it's related. this always happens when I fix everything https://t.co/qc5rTeI9eq

@almostnora i have a fairly powerful imagination and it works fine for that, but the effects are different. my body will legit "believe" porn morn and be more (though not completely) satiated. last time I tried to quit porn and only use imagination, I got unproductively horny after a week

@QiaochuYuan @not_a_hot_girl re: fixing everything, have you tried keto/carnivore? i suspect we have the same phenotype and it seems to work phenomenally well for me (whenever I actually manage to not cope myself out of it for really, no good reason whatsoever xD)
