people think smudging (that thing where people burn some sage and wave it over you or a room) works by magic, but that's like, advanced understanding level 2 level 1 is it's a portal of experience. something happens when you smell the sage. it's a portal. can you feel it?

that's your body wisely saying, "naah" none of this portal business rn https://t.co/ID2DKyOE9N

but in the safety and comfort of your own room, have you ever smelt a familiar flame? i have. i know you have, because you were a kid once, whether we remember it or not, we knew the smell of our mother once, found it comforting, rubbed our nose in other things that smelled of it

the river lets the wind make an impression on it, because it's part of the world. the body lets smells make impressions on it, because it's part of the world yet i had built this mental castle, where no sensation reached me directly

the world, that had not treated me kindly, firewalled off https://t.co/WvE5s567C0

@VividVoid_ i liked it (with caveats) https://t.co/iks9ZmWubJ

@AskYatharth oh lol my experience is quite different https://t.co/1njqeW4inj

@AskYatharth ah I see it now reminds me I had another thought about smudging that I guess also goes for cigarettes, weed, incense, coffee... using scents to tune multiple consciousnesses into the same frequency for collaborative work https://t.co/vCoPXFQuXG
