my contact with indigenous and indian culture has disavowed me of any notion art and religion are something elitist, to do when all needs are met. here, art and religion are something anyone has a relationship with, part of an accepted fabric of life, not occasional museum trip

the culture retains its connection to art, outside the halls of patronage and publicly significant art, just a memory of ordinary creation and destruction, ordinary singing and religious relationship https://t.co/RD7TRhFwK8

there's less of a focus on public, permanent significance. ordinary individual and village significance is alive and well https://t.co/QBZZrMzxaa

i feel deeply curious about greek and cyprite culture, and indian culture, two that im most familiar with, that have collectively produced some of the greatest living artefacts of art and worship in human history, and had it spring from a daily contact with religious experience
