๐คฏ๐คฏ๐คฏ Holy shit I've just uncovered a childhood memory!! I always used to think that I didn't have an answer to the typical question "what do you want to be when you grow up", but actually at some point (~3-5yo) I DID -- I said, verbally, that I wanted to be a LAWYER.

It was a living room full of adults, and prior to me saying that, there was some kind of argument, and I was feeling angry. I said that out of my DESIRE TO INSTILL JUSTICE! MY CHILDHOOD DREAM IS JUSTICE!

And how did the adults respond to me? They actually, literally laughed -- laughed AT me. Saying something like "with your personality, how on earth are you gonna be able to become a lawyer? You would ___ when ___". Which, now, I think might be why I thought I never had a "dream".

Nowadays I don't actually relate to the idea of being a lawyer at all (lol), but the visceral anger of the 3-5yo, the thirst for justice -- that never went away; at times, at best/worst, it merely dimmed.
