why do children learn languages so much better than adults? looking for answers besides "adult brains go bad"

this is exactly how i saw immigrant/expat families pick up languages and speak more fluently within months in new countries lol

so you just… spend time actually listening? participating? observing? developing the relationship with the thing? until your body just knows, and you can participate naturally in it?
