@RichDecibels @strangestloop yes, but there’s a huge gap in how you take the photo

@RichDecibels This xkcd made me rethink it. Even if someone never sits around looking at those photos again, maybe the work of trying to capture photograph itself enhances the experience for them? https://t.co/U7tlKsF5UU

@RichDecibels I’ve always felt this way and I stand by it. And I’m slowly opening up to the possibility that interrupting an experience to initiate the casual, potentially collaborative art project of trying to capture the essence of a moment in a photo is also meaningful and possibly worth it

@RichDecibels But you don't not have a point This is why I advocate for taking a photo at the end of the experience, if you can

@RichDecibels i think i agree. for all the photos and videos i DO take… (mostly when alone) im typically the person most annoyed by “get together for a photo!” in bug groups. i also noticed, when reading the replies, a sense of grasping at the past that im now pondering…

@RichDecibels I think it's very specifically genX as a cultural value! It's really put me off going to gigs because I don't even want to be around people who are for some reason mediating the experience through their phones.

@RichDecibels Taking photos can be a fun activity in itself! Obvs don’t spend your whole event doing it.
