as a teenager you look at your parents world like, "you guys are idiots. the government is dumb. the economy is dumb. jobs are so dumb" as an adult you learn that teenage impulse was mostly true, but you just underestimated how hard it is to make any improvements on that system

@RichDecibels I learned it took about 10 years to get what I wanted, and if they (parents/govt/school/etc) had simply left me alone around age ~12 I would have been maybe 10x-100x more powerful than I am now via compounding effects but I get that leaving a child alone looks like neglect. zz

@RichDecibels a lot of the status quo / establishment is still downstream of old media environments etc and people are still slow to realize what is possible for human coordination via an internet connection

@RichDecibels i feel like people have a wrong model in that ... "making improvements in the system" or even "trying to overthrow the system" is not something that is external to the system but is rather within it. agency is something that has to be seriously rethought tbh

ok not to sound dramatic but I used to be kinda dumb and now I'm smarter than like 80% of people and I know when & how it happened & I think the same method would work for most people
