I don't believe we'll see nukes fly anytime soon, but the thought of it is very frightening to me. I made a collection on arena a while back that covers a lot of topics about surviving fallout. Exploring this helped me be not as afraid.https://t.co/yTLVWj0vIn

If I have a panic about nukes I'll start a channel on how to prep a bug-out-bag for surviving nuclear disasters.Planning is what I do when I can't assuage my fears. It's a productive cope.

I'm not an expert here, but this is a good summary of what I learned 2 years ago while reading old disaster preparedness manuals and consulting books on fallout.TL;DR: if you survive the blast and are shielded from the direct radiation; worry about dust.https://t.co/OIWxXKhWc6

I was learning about nuclear contamination safety because I figured it covered both that disaster, and also the more likely scenario of mass contagion."This pandemic isn’t a black swan. It’s an inevitability."https://t.co/rONmbbxAGdhttps://t.co/o75gXEcgfr https://t.co/shwVVRwCKK

Household just bought two big water containers in case the power goes out for an extended time. We considered risks and decided even if we don't get an economic or nuclear problem, challenges of winter in Vermont make it worth to have food & water on hand.https://t.co/3XUxlidgfa

I am currently more concerned about the economic impact of cyber attacks by third parties. Not being able to buy food and having no cash on hand would be a tricky thing to navigate.https://t.co/ERM6b8OACR

I also wanna point out that we made mice that are immune to normally deadly levels of radiation... by modulating their gut bacteria. [NOV 2020]https://t.co/xuTKFYGupHI wrote this in january 2020: https://t.co/VjoYgIHF7u https://t.co/ncUJ1GgN7x

@GRITCULT There is indications that even dead bacteria can cause immune system responses, so there is something interesting - low dose ionizing radiation could trigger a heightened defense against cancer cells. I would predict diets shift to maintain homeostasis. https://t.co/J0LpIp9uB8

That study talking about propionate & tryptophan metabolites helping resist radiation damage is absolutely fascinating. It suggests smell loss may be via disruption of tryptophan pathways.https://t.co/vvMqBxfV4H

The loss of smell from swallowing a radioactive pill is fascinating. Do we know why that happens? Also, a form of leukemia was what one of the surviving demon core guys got.The "beneficial" effect they mention is similar sounding to the Radon Therapy.
