Maria, explain the most important job of our generation right fckn now, in one breath, standing on one foot https://t.co/fMd17DaeoM

Transcription:Many people say our future is doomed because they feel powerless. The best they can do is escapism, depression or waiting for an adult to come and make everything right.Unfortunately they are as clueless as we are. There are no adults in the room. If they knew what to do, they would have done it a long time ago. And they don't care. They're about to leave this ship soon anyway.NOW WHAT?We can't count on governments, politicians, religious leaders or corporations to make things right and save us. It is up to us, in our teens, 20s, 30s and 40s to figure it out. We must grow into the elders we always wished we had, because nobody else is gonna do it for us.We need to become a * Tribe of Elders ***Where do you start?Well, just like everybody, right where you are. Every Elder used to be a Child, a Teenager and an Adult before they got there.A child learns all there is about the world, a teenager questions everything and figures out love, sex, and morality, their place in life, their mission and purpose, and get to know themselves. An adult discovers interdependence and their responsibility towards their ancestors & descendants and the planet they keep passing forward to their children and grandchildren. An elder puts in thousands of hours of practice to learn the best and everchanging and very personal way to do it.We still have real elders in all corners of the world, the village grandpas and grandmas. They happily share their wisdom, but few of us want to listen. My job here is to meet them, follow in their footstepsand let you know what i've learned...๐
