General problem: high status person (in any domain - social, professional, economic, spiritual, etc) reifies their status. They suffer from loneliness and not feeling seen/understood, as they are pedestalized, resented, objectified.

@enlightenedcoop The hot girl at the bar also suffers from being dehumanized, placed on a pedestal, becoming a trophy rather than a human. In a circular reinforcing relationship to the way she dehumanizes others for being “not in her league”

Yet their actions to consolidate status (only interact with high status people, degrade low status people, etc) only drive them further into this spiral. It reifies low intrinsic self worth (“I’m only good if I continue to excel/be high status at X”) https://t.co/NlS4qsgmLo

Hopefully they can combat this, eg through close trusting relationships. If they don’t, the drive may continue unchecked https://t.co/es9t76REKh

But even if they can, they may choose to ignore (deny) that they are connected to others (responsibility)

Among many things, they indirectly represent how people in power are, to members of society more broadly. In this position, a high status person might say “I didn’t ask to be a role model/archetype/projected onto” or “people need to take their own responsibility”

All of which is totally fair. But ignores the fundamental reality that we impact others, more so the more power we have. Which is why power with comes responsibility - the responsibility to care

If you don’t want the responsibility to care, then simply don’t take power (become high status). This is why power requires emotional infrastructure https://t.co/lfSKW2SzAu

Wielding more power responsibility requires greater “love infrastructure” - ability to source love and belonging from spaces separate from the power
