i wish someone could have sat me down and said “Maybe I should try harder” “Maybe you should investigate your massive amounts of inner conflict” https://t.co/iLXsuecs8D

all i knew was that life sucked, basic movement through life was hard and grindy, and this non-coercion stuff advocating being nicer to yourself sounded nice just acknowledging that had my alarms blaring 🚩🚩🚩

When people are stuck in inner conflict, you work with the thing they already have the least conflict about. The thing they can bring themselves to care about. That’s what you have to work with

Anything else is wishful thinking about what you would like to have to work with

For me, it was wasting less time and feeling less grindy They were sad things to work with. But they were my things to work with

Today I can do work, make meals, and I have normal people issues, but I’m not seeking the end of those issues anymore

Maybe this is what people mean about the power of working and starting with what is. “You want to end akrasia and become more productive? Fine. Let’s sit with that. Let’s investigate that ” https://t.co/EaDiWpoMOf

non-self-coercion is functionally identical to the belief that given enough time and space, you would do the right thing
