@RichDecibels Took me awhile to realize this kind of catastrophizing does not feel like exaggeration or hyperbole. If I'm catastrophizing, someone only need tell me to stop overreacting and I would recognize their standpoint and merge it to my own widened perspective.

@RichDecibels Whereas saying the exact same thing to the wrong person would amount to invalidating their catastrophes, however minor it may seem from my perspective.

I feel this must explain why I have such resistance to labelling wounds as trauma. Just because hurt was inflicted, didn't mean the event has debilitated me or shaken me to my core, in the way I imagine something traumatic would have done.
