everyone be asking me for my fusion analysis https://t.co/cPUnX2cTAM

gotta properly cite the wolfram-alpha programmer here :) https://t.co/tihJLIAhO1

tech review article on the subject gets quite good near the end https://t.co/pHg6DDLNSe https://t.co/bLnbiFDGIM https://t.co/GBATQa0zFC

nuance! was not intended as a dunk! fusion energy > laser energy absorbed by the plasma *is* a big deal the only manmade thing powerful enough to do this before? nuclear bombs! it's related to fusion powerplants like the study of explosions is to building engines: peripherally

the website of NIF at LLNL is quite clear about their purpose and implications, and only dabble in overstatement. A- https://t.co/B3n2J4PdlQ

this is a huge W for this account, which gained 400 followers overnight, but am sad that this is because of its dunk-like properties on what is a global lauded achievement. dunks may be the native artform on twitter, but not intended. wanted to clarify the scientific result!

so many people act immediately to classify information as either good news or bad news, worthy of positive or negative affect. anews as omen of being saved, or doomed well, thatβs not how the universe works! make room for nuance, learn without prejudice (pre-judgement!)

ignition, but not like a candle. ignition, like a firecracker https://t.co/CIVoKToKV3

@gglawits there's a whole hell of a lot of laser engineering to do, alongside a lot of attempts to increase yield, well before powerplants are in the cards. _still_, it's great and with these results NIF will probably raise the funding to upgrade; and this may accelerate fusion generally
