Also, comments on waste aside, note that we can still build monuments (to flaming hot Cheetos) with no greater incentive to doing that than “One guy thought it would make a cool tiktok video”, and a) improves my impression of creative impact of Tiktok b) let’s make some monuments
“But it was wasteful!” Eh it’s a creative act which utilized labor and inputs which are not scarce at any relevant margin. The thing people are detecting as “waste” is instead values disalignment with themselves having created no monuments to things they consider more important.
