past a certain threshold of # of followers, you can pretty much make any sort of request and there’ll be someone out there who’s into it. this is a dark and dangerous magic to possess, and it’s prudent to witness how it’s part of the complex that drives celebrities mad
the way to minimize the madness, as far as I can tell, is to have a very strong sense of your own values, goals, desires, limits, boundaries, etc. all of those things will be eroded if you’re not adamant about protecting them
@VividVoid_ I hesitate to compress it that much… it can, and often does, but I don’t think it *has* to. I think it’s mostly that people aren’t typically taught/trained to wield it appropriately. Power corrodes the way speed kills, I guess. Good to be cautious
@VividVoid_ I’d guess that I’d likely agree with every concern you have about the problem of power as legit and concerning and just always have one more “and yet I hope that good men with good hearts and temperance might someday be able to wield moderate power to do moderate good”
