it’s really, really, really confusing to live in a world where you have to just be able to say “no” to advice. “it does not apply to me, in this way” it requires being kind of sure in yourself. that *your sensemaking*, your intuition, is a viable way to be in the world

i didn’t fucking have it. i was very successful, but that’s because i was using my ability to optimise against goals, with someone else’s sensemaking i am a baby when it comes to sensemaking on my own. im still building trust https://t.co/7npzwPopVF

you made it. you are a viable human being you get to have an opinion about the world you get to have an opinion about things—especially about yourself—that no one else does

once i realise and deeply trust my way of being is 𝘷𝘪𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦, i don’t have to take advice as an existential threat i can say, “no! i am going to ignore you! i cannot even explain why! but it doesn’t matter! this is my home. my home is my life. and i get to stay in it”

great thread w/ examples, pointing to “if you can’t argue against data, it doesn’t mean falling into its trap” that’s the reason psy-op: if you can’t argue against something, you gotta do it https://t.co/Mmh83g9wq1

once my sensemaking is viable, i can incrementally improve it. radically improve it but from a position where i am living in a home; one that is viable, one that i can exclude other people (and advice) from they are here on my invitation https://t.co/KnXhhEOAQf

a lot of my improvements in life have come down to feeling like less of a houseguest in the world

im not obliged to hear advice. i am viable without it. i get to exist in the naturalness of my sensemaking, trust it, and improve it, at its core rather than operate on the scaffolds of reason i built around it, estranging me from my core

@phallusoraptors also bc if it’s natural and deep and expressive enough, the attentiveness and interestingness will simply shine through, and it’s more robust this way for everyone involved https://t.co/n7aIUuno9i
