tangent so. i dont know what im talking about, just trying to work through something, correct me anywhere my understanding is that IQ GWAS isnt super high R^2 right now, possibly its even quite low. but $current_environment IQ heritability in adults is like what, 0.7-0.8 or so?

typical explanations for this are what 1. massively complex additive or synergistic contributions from many many genetic variants 2. major positive contributions from idiosyncratic or rare SNPs 3. major negative contributions from idiosyncratic mutational load 4. other?

(2) and (3) are most interesting to me. like, ok, with (1) its just a mess and we just need tooooons of training data to figure it out, fine with (3), ok, its fairly bad, but maybe we can redeem humanity by identifying likely contributors to nonlethal mutational load and fixing

(2) is kind of charming though. basically you can tell a story where occasionally a Destined Child is born, each a new gift to humanity from God, a new development that can persist in the human line forever, a new region of the space of human potential mapped and found wonderful

oh right I forgot a big one which is currently as i understand it GWAS is pretty focused on SNPs and misses out on effects from things like promotors and enhancers and (new to me) apparently introns, check this shit out https://t.co/g9k9sJOuZx

ive probably already lost non-bio ppl but for those who are curious your DNA is the code for proteins yes. but it also has lots of regions that aren't protein code, but that affect how likely a given protein is to be produced

@eigenrobot Yeah, nature of Polygenic risk scores that find stuff like crohn's etc associated with longevity https://t.co/ODwNxcK9sd and implications about longevity genes associated with IQ https://t.co/wo7xE0DsXjThe foundation for why I think we can modulate these thru epigenetics.

@eigenrobot Weirdly all my high IQ and longevity genes seem to stem from the small amount of Ashkenazi genetics. They deal with gut microbes and lipid function and appear to directly drive the immune issues that I ate dog shit to fix. Very curious.

@eigenrobot Weirdly, most of these genes impacting longevity are involved with bone development which impacts survival after age related falls.Made some cool inferences about hibernation because of this that showed up in the fossil record.

@eigenrobot Why would bone related genes impact IQ? We just don't know. Shame about the brain being mostly cholesterol derived fatty tissue.https://t.co/LOO4nEjeMC

@eigenrobot I'm learning how to leverage autism related TRPM8 to be able to not blink by figuring out what drives dry eye in a disease that is also more common in people related to Von Neumann. https://t.co/IoOrsJMgOA

@eigenrobot I have the genes for that too. Gonna become a lizard person. https://t.co/ADU6qE8qQQ

@eigenrobot Did you know that the hibernating ground squirrel will have it's immune system harvest fats from the brain to stay warm? They're super cool.https://t.co/MqbCuQQQCJ

@eigenrobot 23andMe data got pilfered thru a credential stuffing attack. So I made a joke about it.https://t.co/Z4mXkcfwQX

I am very interested in these genes myself. Given that both of my autoimmune conditions are perhaps related to the ones I inherited, the idea that I cured them via FMT pills is really funny to me.I could probably tell Einstein to eat shit.https://t.co/rcL0y80gCr

@eigenrobot Do you know anyone who can tell @SBF_FTX to eat shit?https://t.co/anbPRhiria

@eigenrobot @SBF_FTX I'm serious. Per @joshuajfriedman he seems to be having problems with meth withdrawal.https://t.co/WgqFZcvjPa

@eigenrobot @SBF_FTX @joshuajfriedman I can feel what herbs do to the body by smell alone because I have a close personal relationship with my smooth muscle response. Been honing a Synesthesic sense via smell for a few years now.https://t.co/ezReSH7eKT

@simpleorganix I've been trying to leverage synesthesia effects to model how herbs interact w/ my body & have some luck. I can feel when smooth muscles shift/vibrate and then use that to predict if an herb is a galactagogue or reverse. Predicted sage was a weening agent https://t.co/xRDrOAaLD6

@eigenrobot @SBF_FTX @joshuajfriedman Amazing what you can infer about diseases.https://t.co/LjvNSHaMck

I cry, piss my pants, during the winter because of immune system changes impacting my smooth muscle tissue / nerve control. It's part of reason why I can make predictions about seasonal gut bacteria shifts & odd findings in cholesterol in northern diet.https://t.co/59veAJs4PI

@eigenrobot @SBF_FTX @joshuajfriedman I bet withrawal from ADHD meds makes you trip and panic pretty bad. https://t.co/s7xXrFA4m6

Have you ever snorted menthol to see if it stopped nausea via TRPM8 deactivation of TRPA1 & figured out that was the thing CO2 was hitting that made you panic?"cells that responded to CO2 were the same cells that detect mustard" https://t.co/CxZgGFZs71https://t.co/OwZclHZvVR

@eigenrobot @SBF_FTX @joshuajfriedman Figuring this out is just a stepping stone toward finding ways to solve issues associated with my autism. Like uterine cancer.https://t.co/tR9P84OM0gWhich my mom has had surgery for in the past.https://t.co/OLMO2l5Did

@eigenrobot Most antiparasitic agents target ion channels. All the seeds that seem to have anti-parasitic action (papaya, mustard, tumeric etc) all act on TRPA1 + TRPV1/TRPV4 in some capacity. What's fascinating is why these all also seem to have anticancer features.https://t.co/tO022VuDE5

@eigenrobot @SBF_FTX @joshuajfriedman Probably wanna avoid the Haloperidol Decanoate injections if you can. https://t.co/QrP4s9iAQh

@eigenrobot @SBF_FTX @joshuajfriedman Anyway, if you're having weird memory issues and brain fog thanks to being off ADHD meds, might wanna look into getting butyrate producers in the gut to compensate for the metabolic dysfunction.https://t.co/peA9FuK19i
