you think I'm clowning bc I'm using pompous language and pissing on your sacred cows but I'm serious. I've been building the "new world" full time for more than a decade and I haven't seen any charts trending in the right direction

@RichDecibels "It is because the world is still terrible that it is so important to see how the world became a better place." https://t.co/bH7yH2VWjz

@RichDecibels Does “I haven’t seen anything trending in the right direction” not also mean you see things trend in a wrong direction? If the trend is bad, it could be that the “capitalism” we’ve known will be replaced by an even less equitable system. Then “late stage” can still be true.

@RichDecibels I notice @leashless grapples with similar seriousness. No idea what to offer other than thank you both. I think the kindling of this 'new world' has been very wet. Right material, right place, just hasn't caught fire yet.

@RichDecibels Literally what? What else do want to improve besides global wealth, longevity, education, equality, personal freedoms, over all knowledge, etc.? Virtually everything is trending the right direction. And that is why we aren't in "late stage capitalism", things are getting better.

@RichDecibels On a similar page, but don't subscribe to blanket doom. History shows pockets of sanity & thriving emerge in between empires. City-states often thrive in such periods & become cribs of renaissance. But no guarantee history will repeat. Ours is a unique historical situation.

@RichDecibels Unless money is refounded (which can be achieved by stealth, I believe), capitalism will absorb and recuperate all novelties. Markets are strongly conditioned by the means-of-exchange they use.

@RichDecibels Capitalism=system for accelerated growth via debt and interest. In the womb, the baby develops exponentially, all resources flow to it via the placenta (centralized institution/organ). After birth, growth slows and energy consumption fluctuates. More here: https://t.co/vaT0ZtWye8

@RichDecibels idk I’ve birthed a new world in my life already woke up on a permaculture garden today amidst a culture of worktrade and hospitality, people are only 20% as money-reliant as in my past life (I suspect I may not be the target audience of your tweet?) https://t.co/s4gRYL5uvK

@relic_radiation @RichDecibels Yes, exactly. You built it through your own efforts (and presumably the efforts of others who were involved). It did not emerge through natural processes. It was not foretold

@RichDecibels I wonder if your desire to disabuse people of their fantasies is stronger than your grasp of objective reality. The 'between worlds' case is an empirical one. It's a whole conversation, but this essay by Zak (and its references) is a good place to start: https://t.co/FkAIywR6oL

@RichDecibels and yet things have always changed and will continue to change ' my sense is that u r making correct assertions (especially with regard to worshipping false idols and wishful thinking) about what is for most people, a straw man ' there are real problems and many willing ppl '

@RichDecibels What of paradigm shift and evolution? I know Capitalism is inherent to the human condition, it's how we we, but this hyper-competative zero-sum can't last. I'm struck by the evolution of the zoomers and millennials, the truths they are seeing and new emergent modes of being.
