updated my Hire Me page! I'm ready to take on more clients for marketing consulting: https://t.co/nKmJE0xqln https://t.co/DBDwqGqHlb

I'm looking for more marketing consult clients again! If you're looking to grow your business or project, figure out your positioning as a creative, strengthen your narrative, work out your branding, get more customers/users/followers, etc etc DM or email me and let's chat 🤓

@strangestloop you can still use all the other channels – twitter, obviously, but even things like youtube, where you can talk ~about~ your essays and pick up some organic discovery that way. the impt thing is to ask where/how those essays fit in conversations with other people

@visakanv Thank you! I'd like to know about more about that important thing... I try to do it skillfully on here but I don't know if I'm actually skillful! Could you give feedback on this example? https://t.co/lpfplsFf6Z

@strangestloop if you post a link directly by itself with no commentary, I think it's unlikely that people will click thru. I would say something specific (genuine curiosity is a helluva drug) + point to something specific as well. screenshots are great for this https://t.co/OWYA5U7tbO https://t.co/g7cPC8sIs6

@visakanv How do you think about measurement, forecasting, budget, etc around media when companies bring it up? I'm so used to transactional paid models that are easy to do all that with but not great for actual connection with customers But the good stuff is more nebulous

@nopranablem well it depends on the context, and the company. personally I've always been long and deep on "real brand equity is non-obvious and not easy to see/measure", but yea for businesses with quarterly goals etc that might not suffice. so if I'm working with one (I prefer not to, lol,)

@nopranablem I try to achieve some improvement on some of the metrics that the company cares about (more site traffic or whatever), AND also try to get some quality time talking with actual customers/users about their stories, and surface that. I think that's very important/powerful

@visakanv Yeah makes sense! IME decision makers need to believe it or see it. Probs helpful to think of some intermediate/proxy metrics (an SEO team I've been working with does this well) when they really need it for whatever reason

@visakanv Tbh what overrides all that though feels like *genuine caring* and stuff will kind of emerge from that. Otherwise it can be too much of an intellectual exercise? Feels more fun to work with teams that have this vision anyway haha

@nopranablem yup 100% agreed. you can tell when people's hearts aren't in it. and maybe you can make a buncha money anyway, but personally i'm only into it if people are also in into it https://t.co/qRGBR6xBJG

@visakanv ooo how do I book anywhere between one and 10 corporate massage events in February I’m looking at the Bay Area, starting rate of $2200/day https://t.co/rFCK02Qhdr

soo I’m still getting tech recruiting emails, and in the spirit of “you can just do stuff”: instead of ghosting, today I sent this in response. I may make a habit of it. think it’ll work? have any feedback that’d increase my odds? https://t.co/Hr21tlEUgZ

@visakanv my game plan now is: * put up website * cold-email “the relevant people” with news of my offering ⬅️ how2find the relevant people is my bottleneck right now. I have some ideas. I’d like to hear yours!

@relic_radiation there are a few possible approaches, and it's hard to know in advance what will work, but they're all basically varying forms of "ask the best-fit people you can find, who are the best-fit people *they* know of, and figure out (by asking, trial-and-error) what they'd need...
