@not_a_hot_girl DALLE is closed off, the weighs are not available to anyone, and using it via the provided service has restrictions on what you can generate. Stable diffusion offered fewer restrictions and the weights but only to academics, but now weights leaked, no restrictions with own GPU!

@not_a_hot_girl Oh, I mean the model is the weights, so if you want to run it yourself or fine tune it, or keep training it or anything like that you need them - all the other code around it is already open.

@not_a_hot_girl If you don't have the weights, you would have to gather up your own data, and train the model yourself (potentially months of time and a lot of money)

@not_a_hot_girl Initially yes, but the more people have access, the faster and easier it will become for everyone to use, as we all build better tools and interfaces that are easier to use!
