Oh neat, I've been meaning to find a species of ant to test if their gut's fungal biome promotes actinobacteria in the soil.I've been digging into this space quite a bit lately cuz my autistic obsession on ants and gut microbes intertwine.https://t.co/6PdanDwjQ8 https://t.co/ckm1ivkSnm

More likely its just the chitin fermenting into butyrate and has nothing to do with promoting hydrogen peroxide producing chemicals from a soil bacteria, but still neat to think there could be something going on beyond what meets the eye here.

Gonna have to find a way to buy some. I have all sorts of experiments to do with using it to melt rocks and see if I can use it to extract gold from soil.https://t.co/AERBRO76A9

Note to self: "Stinging Nettles (Urtica dioica)" is a common medical plant. It appear to make formic acid as part of their sting. Something like this plant might be harvestable to extract Formic Acid for stone softening work purposes, in liu of using ants.

Oh look, someone did a study on using formic acid to treat coronavirus in pigs. Sure wish there was a reason to expect something neat here. /shttps://t.co/vYk9i3k1ya

I already knew ants use formic acid to help adjust their microbiome and help treat infection. So it makes sense to expect something like this if we were to eat them.It may depend heavily on the species of ant and their soil culture tho.https://t.co/85KEyx9qnY

I hope to get stung by fire ants one day, while trying to dig out the fiery heart of their nest (to eat them).https://t.co/RpfnE38bHv

Polyrhanchis vicina roger (Black Mountain Ant) is a really interesting species of ant used in traditional Chinese medicine. It's been tested to fight depression in rats! It's probably acting via microbiome. https://t.co/0lDnhwTFyf

Its a shame when companies take a Traditional Chine Medicine and hock it on ebay. There are some more reputable brands out there if you want to experiment with it, and they aren't dripping with politics or xenophobia. I've heard good things about this one: https://t.co/XeF2xR70I0

It's not surprising to me that treatments explored from the TCM space of medicine are being used by people looking to deal with Covid.Given black ant powder is said to treat fatigue, it might be a good choice from before we had vaccines. Could also be promising in Long Covid.

This is a really interesting space to explore if you are able to set aside political dogma and xenophobic thoughts here.https://t.co/DXvYGavO7V

"I was actually joking around at first. It was like, well, [leaf-cutter ants] farmed for tens of millions of years before [humans] did, wouldn’t it be funny if they utilized bacterial production of antibiotics for millions of years before we did?" https://t.co/CycAXbciPV
