why? because to say it’s for therapy still puts the user in a box, where the person outside the box, “the therapist”, “the authority” is now supposed to help the person, and a codependent interaction occurs

therapy (“healing”) still puts the user in a position of “victim,” “person to be helped,” “rehabilitated into society” it puts them into a box that can be contained by the wider culture

it’s a role that exists within the culture, and so you can talk about these substances, while staying within the vocabulary and awareness of the culture you never have to leave the comfy, codependent feeling of having the awareness of the culture around you
