i don’t think everyone’s good at coming up with stuff like that at first. maybe it’s “silly” or “ineffective” things like “buy a repaint of my local skate park.” maybe not the best use of money. but it doesn’t matter. it’s a start. it points to what you care enough about
but it is tangled. it is confused. it is fundamentally confused and yet while being confused they can do great work. great work doesn’t care if you are doing it for the wrong reasons people who spend their lives helping other people are still helping
i want to rehabilitate the spirit of Effective Altruism it does not make me better. it barely makes me a part of the project but it makes me a part of some project. that perhaps @Malcolm_Ocean or @TylerAlterman or @visakanv can name better
