For the past 3 weeks been trying to write a manifesto on an alternative to effective altruism. It’s been brutalMy first draft was cogent, but uninspiring. My second draft tries to capture what *being* a die-hard EA was likeI’ve had to relive that time to relate to it

To empathize w my inner EA, I’m re-experiencing what hardcore EA felt like. Was the worst part of my life. I saw myself and other people as mere resources/instruments to optimize a long term project of the goodIt felt bad & I made myself a hero for ignoring this feelingUgh

@TylerAlterman This is a cool project and I'm glad you're doing it. I definitely had some half-formed thoughts about it at some point but I have no idea where I put them (groupchat somewhere? a google doc? roam notes?)
