@Malcolm_Ocean and yet as Hamilton showed us, A. Ham. didn’t have that much power either—he was ploying to get words in edgewise among a committee—and all the senior-ranking folks were also trying to build consensus, etc. they also existed in sort of a collectively permissioning system
