If the CIA can run "National Committee for a Free Europe" as an anticommunist front org. Surely the 'Free Ukraine Now' is also suspect of being a front org for some anti-nazi talking points? https://t.co/bdNhriwZVO

I'd love a collection of resources that showcase what is considered disinformation. Right now I click thru generic algorithmic feeds until I get to weird political or conspiracy stuff, its time consuming to get a good sample of it. Most of good stuff is silently blocked from tor.

It's like on the whole [any ingroup] collectively get Gell-Mann Amnesia. When reading [outgroup's] propaganda it's framed as bad & wrong. But when [ingroup] view [ingroup's] own attempts at it, it gets silently ignored/unquestioned.I don't care who's feeding me disinfo.

"the mechanisms of what Chomsky and Herman identify as “effective and powerful ideological institutions that carry out a system-supportive propaganda function” might work in the age of Twitter just as they did in one dominated by network and cable news." https://t.co/i2P96a4g8i

And don't get me started on idiotic "bag of words" classifiers that don't know anything about intent.https://t.co/oqLEVUYs6G

Our humble fact checkers.Their egregious media censors.https://t.co/9pdBDFAzjl https://t.co/erLyE8dVBI

The tragedy of all of this is that the 'not trusting' thing is also perhaps the whole point.https://t.co/MJQn6sII6L

You can watch videos of the guy who told us about this. Extrapolating Yuri Bezmenov's stuff to modern social media is easy to do.https://t.co/mRflZT3d3H

"There's always going to be a certain amount of bleed-over with the global information environment."https://t.co/13ce6UhwUB

> “If you call it propaganda, that is OK. But propaganda is a loaded word. And our approach would be different to that of the US.” https://t.co/O2MWC3OLC9

TL;DR: Mind-fucking good.Go mind fuck yourself and your citizens. Or else."Other countries, too, should show they’re serious about fighting the disinformation virus and immunising against it." https://t.co/FkXDoOtIpwhttps://t.co/ne4mm6VTaM

Apparently, one of the changes that happened during the trump era was a shift in how psyops were performed. Not sure if this is true.https://t.co/7V2CCH1BPh

"Esper worked as vice president of governmental relations for Raytheon from 2010 to 2017 before taking the Trump administration job."https://t.co/snvtE3nbCPhttps://t.co/DxVPKoGFbt

It's funny to read these and wonder what it's like to use the internet in other countries. This mentions how Russia is criminalizing false news (about the war?)https://t.co/unhbOSXYws

"Russia banned fake news – which it labels as any information that shows “blatant disrespect” for the state – in April." (2019)https://t.co/CPhtZtT7rA

Misleading narratives targeting infra => Terrorism."These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence"https://t.co/yiLNb5w5Vi

I would have figured that Russia already ban fake news about the military in much the same way as how America has 18 U.S. Code § 1038 specifically calling it a crime to lie about army personnel.https://t.co/YVA1Ks1pYo

Trying to look up the source of that soundbyte about Russia banning fake news about military and I find this perfectly normal (and not suspicious at all) news org talking about it.https://t.co/imSFxP8zks

I remember when it was controversial to call it "The War with Afghanistan" because when that thing it was actually "Operation Enduring Freedom" and "Operation Freedom's Sentinel".https://t.co/AyKblpKAzg

Just a blank check to commit acts of "necessary and appropriate force" on anywhere we deem has terrorists. NBD.https://t.co/rctLJ0umJ3

Not sure if this site is legit or not. But if this translation is true, this is actually fewer years of punishment for both cases that mirror 18 U.S. Code § 1038https://t.co/jYn7GKZNtN https://t.co/rc1dnNqUM7

An uncharitable take about US law is we could frame our "Imminent lawless action" limits of free speech https://t.co/iq6645Eso0 with 18 USC Ch. 105: SABOTAGE https://t.co/9FVIHDabKH To imply that we also have laws makes it illegal to do so.But this is a stretch.

"to call against the use of" seems to be more directly about protests tho. I wish my Russian were better so I could read into the context more. Its times like these I am thankful that I live in a country where saying stuff like this outloud is covered under freedom of speech.

I find it fascinating how radiofreeeurope cites a separate website "svoboda" which uses same logo. It mentions that it's websites are blocked and has a page on how to sideload it.Do any American sites have a built in VPN service on their companion app?https://t.co/9le9cb4vgF

Its funny that YouTube marks Radio Free Europe's channel the same way it marks RT.https://t.co/MOzFMOPSdxhttps://t.co/SemYs2tdH8 https://t.co/eXva2o2SMo

When America decides to go to war again & we bomb some orphanage, will the rest of the world will demand we *checks notes* ban American corporate media companies & take down *checks notes* American sponsored news? https://t.co/SVVOfqehpvhttps://t.co/OjXfA6zIAi

Jingoism. I understand it now.https://t.co/x5xRBNsKSp

So... What are the chances that this NYTimes article is actually rooted in Russian Propaganda? https://t.co/Fa7rTrpwDI https://t.co/Dy43sPjL8a

Cuz there's some really interesting content on RT about this topic, being spread thru "ring of fire"https://t.co/tA0sRsAoCH

I'm trying to verify the idea that Epstein wanted to freeze his penis and impregnate young girls and suddenly I'm finding drove after drove of RT content.https://t.co/rvAiseJF3w

“For some time I have been disturbed by the way CIA has been diverted from its original assignment. It has become an operational and at times a policy-making arm of the Government. This has led to trouble…”https://t.co/LQ3sPtCRtm https://t.co/XUsFUMyEwL
