the problem with people-pleasing is people are never forming a connection with you, but rather the version of you you are putting out there so you are still alone

being estranged from yourself can feel a lot better than being estranged from others, that’s why we do it it’s not a problem, until it begins to feel like one

then you just adapt, simple. no apologising, no denouncing, dummy! your “friends” are still your friends nothing fundamentally changes in the moment you realise you are a bit lonely for yourself
