a mini way of practicing “What do I care about? What do I wanna do?” at a daily sort of scale rather than at the decade or life scale is to be curious about what’s on your own mind before you check your phone in the morning, or after you wake from a nap

being your own first supporter, the first person rooting for you to succeed, to have fun, experience joy, etc – this is something you can get better at with practice. over time you become steadfast, unwavering. it’s not magic confidence dust. It’s practice

“but my mind is so boring and bland” – that’s typically because you haven’t practiced using it yet. your imagination is capable of producing symphonies and cathedrals of splendor but it does take practice. it starts with enjoying idle daydreams, appreciating the nuances in them
