slightly tricky to put this into words but in my experience the most therapeutic thing in the world is having a benevolent authority figure in your life who genuinely cares about you and your goals, respects your independence, and encourages you to more fully become who you are https://t.co/vjeqd6Tqx2

the really tricky thing about this is you never quite know if you can trust an authority figure to actually have your interests at heart, actually care about you rather than use you as a proxy to project their own bullshit onto. you almost have to get lucky with this one

I got really lucky. https://t.co/nmWlnqRkiA

in the 5+ years I worked for my ex-boss Dinesh, he constantly, casually-yet-intensely would ask me about my goals & desired outcomes "what do you want to get out of this?" "how will you measure your progress?" "what's the next step?" "what's the limiting factor?"

* a lot of what I do is to try and retroactively become "worthy" or "deserving" of that luck, by paying it forward. and yeah I know those are dangerous concepts, nobody deserves anything, life is chaos, and yet 🐉everyone deserves everything 🌀nobody deserves anything ⛵️ayy

@goblinodds you mean you have a relationship with someone good in your life? well I'd then really immerse yourself in it, reflect on it, make it more of a thing for you. like if you really like a song in your playlist, look up the artist, and the genre, etc! focus on what you want more of!
