The blue box is itself a trick - it manipulates the emotions of the players who end up hitting the kazio blocks. They see the blue box while trying to find another way and it makes them feel hopeless. It drives vindictive feels in the "winner" too.
When you see this subtle manipulation of the blue box, you can undermine it and play the game with alternate utility, subverting the structural manipulations present in the environment and work toward manipulating it toward your own ends.
