Reasons to be a mistake theorist seem to be: - Autism (moral repugnance to lying/deception) - Self-deception to not attract negative attention due to weakness - Pretense (strictly superior)

@nosilverv - being a mistake theorist is the best way to get liked by other mistake theorists, and mistake theorists tend on average to be better, more likeable people ime

@nosilverv plus if you want to form any kind of long-term friendship or relationship with people, you're gonna need people who won't defect the moment a communication error occurs; far better to have mistake theorist people for this.

@nosilverv there's also something like, correctly noticing that people saying "XYZ person is Bad and Out To Get Us" is often a precursor to unprincipled punishment, wanting to do something about that, and hard *oversteering* into "no one is ever out to get anyone ever it's all in your head"

@nosilverv it's like the 1st "geek social fallacy thing", were one correctly notices that there's some bullshit going on related to "drama" and social ostracism, but responds by making a commitment to hide and avoid information about real conflicts that exist https://t.co/zNpBaAYZUh
