dad: don't crash into the tree! son: https://t.co/dsQO64SLRG

@visakanv Reminds me of @RomeoStevens76 https://t.co/6fe3vJ64D1

@xuenay @visakanv @RomeoStevens76 dream mashups recreate themselves as people act into the dream scene using their motor cortex in actual reality I call this "self-fulfilling projection" eg a person’s anticipation of being rejected causing them to behave in a way that will predictably get them rejected.

"i'm trying to be less stressed", "i'm trying to be less unhappy", "I want to feel less alone", etc, all same issue you gotta focus on where you want to go, not where you don't want to go https://t.co/tFaWtEZM1p

I think @m_ashcroft would be pleased to know that one of the differences between newbie racecar drivers and professionals is, the professionals expand their awareness and look very far ahead, iirc looking for the next turn instead of just the turn they're currently navigating https://t.co/ifQsEGwe6F

also intuitive to anybody who's ever tried to ride a bicycle while looking at their feet instead of the horizon victor wooten similarly coaches bass players by getting them to focus their attention on the drummer they're playing with. *instantly* improves *everything*

“what specific sites should I avoid most?” https://t.co/EzhUJZKj9a

idk if OP knew what she was doing when she did it, but it's illustrative regardless https://t.co/XRanE2J3WR

12. the ad may have made people realize that - it's possible - lots of people are doing it https://t.co/u3bAfOYaL0 https://t.co/Xs5QSzi5LY

@blisstweeting @visakanv ah I am leaving the UK in February for a year of nomad travel - but I would HIGHLY encourage you to get 1:1 lessons with my teacher if you come to London otherwise, I'm curious, what's your current experience with gaming and expanded awareness?

@m_ashcroft @visakanv wow if I make it there I totally will actually, it's almost non-existent for that overlap (bar these several recent experiments with League of Legends) I've had some experience with expanded awareness in general though, which roots from my interest in occult in my early youth

@blisstweeting @visakanv haha I'm intrigued about the occult / expanded awareness intersection there I know nothing of League of Legends, but would definitely encourage you to experiment more! I'd love to hear about it

@m_ashcroft @visakanv haha it's a bit awkward story from my past 😅 though if you want to ask any questions I'm open for a chat or a call pretty much any time. I tried to reflect on it here but a proper format would be too many words. I mean, it's clumsy https://t.co/W4rd2z2StG

@m_ashcroft @visakanv I will soon reiterate some of the points in this framework I'm working on (it's focused on developing a variety of mental skills and faculties without addition of magick or any woo) https://t.co/PUkP4ri2Mg

lady: don’t kiss a girl and like it! girls: https://t.co/uvxuoSialM

@visakanv Ah, the poor kid... I remember reading in Anthony Fokker's memoir, Flying Dutchman, that some pilots had an almost magnetic attraction to trees. Got hypnotised. It was quite common for pilots, in flying's early days, when landing, to hit the only tree in the middle of the field.

@drojasug @visakanv this boy’s awareness is collapsed not just onto the physical tree, but on its mental representation as well he is powerless to avoid it until he un-fixates he can’t place his attention anywhere else until his awareness includes other things all of that is inhibition

@RobertHaisfield @drojasug @visakanv thanks for pointing this out I have a bit of a technical version of it here, but it would benefit from making more accessible https://t.co/XrEFIoddjv

teacher: don’t be ashamed of your thoughts! student:

@Jandrade0112 @sashachapin I actually had zero shame about my thoughts, and it didn’t occur to me that anyone would feel shame about having thoughts, until the teacher said “don’t be ashamed.” It was a super weird experience and I didn’t like it at all.

@BecomingCritter indeed, the only winning move is: https://t.co/tFaWtEZM1p

@visakanv Reminds me of this vid by @danielschmach where he talks about his challenges to "fix" his panic attacks. The way out was accept it, and not creating narrative that is "counter" to what he wanted to change bc it would continuously reinforce it. https://t.co/0NXedWnooU

@visakanv Oooh yes!!! as I've reached milestones in quitting vaping my phrasing has changed from: - "I'm trying to quit vaping so nty!" to: - "Oh, I don't vape, but thanks!" The subtle shift into identity-based behavior (vs. attempts at kicking old habits) has made saying no much easier!

@visakanv Tangentially related, but I'm a bit annoyed when stories describe a character, situation etc. as "not" something. "He was not tall and never wore black" Great, now I'll forever be picturing your character as really tall dressed in a long black coat

@visakanv I once wrote a song entitled "I don't need something to do", which was implying that smoking was something you do when you have nothing else to do. Can't say I really stuck by that but it's a more-than-decent approximation

@visakanv Same w screen time https://t.co/J4umgRtyI7
