$30M from the "user acquisition" fund from Tilting Point means you're going to see a lot of ads and promotional content for this cat game soon.Me wonder what it costs to clone pokemon in mobile space & produce quality content like their cinematic trailer https://t.co/dJdcQcYS2I https://t.co/Ea8C1qjZUj

I have no idea who Josh Buckley is, but according to Linked In he's chairman (and seed investor) at ClearBit and is an "adviser & investor" in a number of others, some of which apparently acquired. They were successful enough to launch a second game! https://t.co/0Qod9r0uk6

I don't think that's persistence. I think that is someone who's raked in money in the mobile space and turned around and invested it well. And now has a track record to prove he's got business sense in that space to get funding for new ads.Game looks cute. Props to artist team!

According to https://t.co/gvSfaB7V2b they got 2.1M in seed funding before they went and made that cinematic trailer. Not too shabby after that initial 18k via YC.They scaled that to 10M in rev before getting a third seed round. They also just brought on a new Head of Marketing.

No wonder they almost died - their second game was competing w/ Pokemon Go *AND* clones of their first."think they have a leg up on Nintendo’s uber franchise by focusing their attention on mobile, an area where Pokemon games really haven’t taken off."https://t.co/FEh5qtoU2v

They acquired "Playcraft Labs" in 2013 to help them port to android, presumably using custom javscript/html5 engine. One of reviews of the port said "These are without any doubt some of the nicest graphics you can find on Android."They look interesting: https://t.co/w07ItUydKN

Owner of Playcraft is now the CTO at mino. He's been paying attention.https://t.co/7JqdCCLtgz

They've got job openings listed here: https://t.co/XDSzoxs9s0 - their website is out of date.Worth checking out if this sounds like an opportunity for you.Personally I can't stomach the idea of ads, but I figure that comes with the territory.

Why a cat game? Thats what I want to know! They had brilliant strategy with their Mino Monster title. My hunch they're trialing the cat game b/c their going after Crypto Kitties space in the future.I noted that Naval invested in ClearBit - maybe elbows rubbing?

I can't confirm it, but I think that the senior artist is the same person who was one of the 'pencilers' on https://t.co/qptlhbznkM - that explains the quality art team.

I've been watching android app store for "virtual pet" games - stuff like My talking tom, or all those crappy 3d pets. How did they rank so well for a play store search for "cats"/"cat game"? but not even in "cat simulator"?I find it interesting how similar these are. https://t.co/fc7Q79I6vG

What... is happening in that Battle Cats game?(the other one seems to be a clone, but on a boat) https://t.co/USCUI6O9Wz

Microtransactions for NFTs soon."All those companies are making games based on the blockchain, the secure and transparent digital ledger that enables cryptocurrencies and unique one-of-a-kind items, or nonfungible tokens (NFTs). "https://t.co/tCFfA3tCU0https://t.co/O38wBh20Jk

Godus, but instead of paying money on an app store on your phone for gems to buy collectable stickers you use as in-game currency, you buy NFT tokens minted on a time release schedule. Memed into desirability via a social foraging mechanic in a metaverse.https://t.co/qoIXF3UOOf
