Am I actually happier now than when I was as a child? https://t.co/MAQAUY18Bj

That childish happiness didn’t exist within any narrative. It didn’t exist because of one. It didn’t exist because I thought, “Ah, my parents are protecting me!” It existed because. The world felt fascinating.

That childish happiness, outside the context of any parental milieu, is still available to me. In little moments It doesn’t exist within any narrative, because it doesn’t exist because of it The greatest trick narratives pulled was making us think things exist because of them

But it’s true. Things do exist because of narrative; they cause us to do things. Narratives do have their own bliss, a kind of satisfaction. And it’s different from the childish happiness that exists within little moments; not large ones.
