Been wearing barefoot shoes for almost a year now and it’s really changed my gait for the better. It took 2 tried though. First try was in 2016 but it was too painful, second try was in 2020 after having spent more time barefoot due to wfh. Well worth a try. Just go easy at 1st https://t.co/1JSGWHQKjB

The key is to ease into it and start small. What convinced me that it’s a better alternative was when I injured my knee and walking in regular shoes would hurt my knee a lot more. Until then I was wearing regular shoes on longer walks.

I used to pronate a lot more too (where your ankle bends inward), I have a before and after photo that demonstrates it clearly.

@m_ashcroft @Neats29 I confess I'm genuinely surprised to learn that you don't already wear barefoot shoes. It seems like such a you thing.

@DRMacIver @Neats29 yeah it does doesn't it... I always have enormous issues with shoes that I guess it always just felt like it would never work out well perhaps it would though

@m_ashcroft @DRMacIver Well vivo barefoot have a 100 day return policy so could try them. They do need easing into though so I would practice while you’re still in London.

@Neats29 @m_ashcroft Yeah, seconded. They've also got an actual physical store in London where you can go to try to them on. I keep meaning to go as I need some new ones and I'd like to try a bunch on for fit.

@DRMacIver @Neats29 Oh amazing, I'll go check it out. Yeah definitely sounds like something to do before leaving London
