Discipline is kinda beautiful, actually, when it’s helping me get something I want.

I guess I just didn’t want things enough.

People say this, but it’s not clear what this means. People hear that, and think, “the problem is with me 😣 I’m a bad person, I don’t want it enough.”

And of course that’s the problem. If you wanted it enough, and you felt enough autonomy around it, discipline would be your friend.

But you don’t want it enough, and the way you get there is not by continuing to lie to yourself, or manufacture more desire, or berate yourself till you somehow do. You can’t want things authentically with the worrying mind. That wasn’t working for you. https://t.co/9qVhSqd3SX

I can feel my Worrying mind waking, when I wake up. It helps me feel more kindly towards it,

When people say “You just didn’t want things enough,” it’s not a call to do that; it’s a call to go out there, and authentically orient towards a sense of 𝘎𝘰𝘰𝘥. You don’t have a sense of Good, do you? That’s because finding these things is hard.

Religion, inspiration, beauty—these things didn’t come overnight. They took time, because that’s what trawling through the Unconscious or the Unknown for what is true is.

Understand—most advice is meant for normies, or hypothetical people. For most normies, getting them to think a bit harder and take life more seriously probably is helpful. If you already take life very seriously, it is not going to be helpful.

You are not a real person. You’re more like . . . a pinnochio, someone who hasn’t grown up to be a real person. You lie to yourself what about is true. You do this if it helps you.

Your strings are controlled by ideas & egregores much more powerful than you, that you don’t have any relationship with.

And it’s going to be harder for you, to find a sense of Good. But it’s really worthwhile.
