what am i trying to say here? - that art isn’t actually as important, in a sense, on the scale on which you are comparing it to other things - that still means it is ok to do - that doesn’t mean you have to cope by inflating its worth artificially https://t.co/bvLPN6gNtC

im also saying - art is actually tremendously more important than those things of impact, measured on a different scale - that there are these multiple scales, the large and the small, and they all interplay, and make everything different sizes https://t.co/i6g8Fo6uai

You read a sentence on a truck like “We keep the lights on for safety” and it activates a whole world of what it must mean for people to get annoyed at that and the dynamics of responding. It is wholly reasonable to be so moved by it. There is a world in every felt sense.

why am i trying to say this? - i want to convey something about, “yes, you are doing something unimportant in a sense by deciding to create art” - “and actually, yes, this is fine, here’s why (important on different scales)”

because i think that justification leads to less friction and less of a tight (false) grip on reality https://t.co/OvJPTxsIFY
