odd realization I love nerds more than I love ambitious people but I have more often run into nerds who think I can't be a nerd bc I am ambitious, than ambitious people who think I can't be ambitious bc I'm a nerd initial read: ambitious people are in a sense more welcoming

to be clear I don't think nerds are necessarily wrong to be more protective of their contexts. you could interpret this with a scarcity mindset lens, which I think is at least partially true some of the time, and there's also the legitimate threat lens https://t.co/AwhmQqOaU7

@FeifanZ i'm isolating two variables out of many I don't think ambitious people care much at all about this but there's a class of nerd that sees ambition as something threatening see geeks, mops and sociopaths ā some geeks have v strong anti-sociopath defenses https://t.co/UWYpw74hsp

oh yea also I always have to repeat that I make a distinction between ambition and prestige-seeking ambition to me is about the drive to do what you want, to unfurl the flag of your being to the fullest possible extent prestige-seeking is wanting trinkets and accolades

when I think of ambition I often return to these guys if either of them could spare a moment to help the other, I bet they would have https://t.co/vRBQ9hA06n

2 guys I think about a lot: Dashrath Manjhi, who carved a path through a mountain. Jadav Payeng, who planted a forest. Each did it alone. Each took decades. I wonder, what will happen if I spend decades making friends + introducing them to each other? You may say Iām a dreamer... https://t.co/lUy8MA4iVQ
