💡!!! this is why it’s so hard to answer, or to help people answer, the question of “how do I figure out what I want”!!! because the challenge is not to find out the the unknown, but to unlearn the coercion that fogs up the whole picture https://t.co/gMjKRuSmn4

it's so disgustingly simple. If teachers and parents don't like a reason you give, they said no. You learn your freedom to act in the world is limited by how well you can justify the actions you take/want to take this drives a wedge between you and your actual desires

@visakanv same vibes~https://t.co/mjApzuYweV

this whole thing is incredibly detailed and i highly recommend it if you want to understand the problems facing 20% of singapore's population.but this bit is so revealing, so recognisably true. we have to do better. https://t.co/pvUMjzFmZr https://t.co/1V31moZ08l

the challenge is to unlearn narrow utilitarianism that filters life into a pale, thin trickle once you experience the rich and sparkling flood of the senses, it becomes almost silly to ask “what do I want”. you already know, because you are awash in it https://t.co/ba2cRX5Y08

True joy IMO is liberation from the shackle of narrow utilitarianism. And there's something scary about it! It requires a leap of faith. There is no safe way to be vulnerable (h/t Brene Brown). If you're thinking "how do I be happier without risking anything"... you're trapped https://t.co/6AXFPLnEpo
