If you ever have a choice, wear your best clothes first, because by the time you get to the others, you may have found a laundry machine, or acquired even better ones. This is a principle for life.

Maybe there’s a useful distinction between “emergency fund”/“safety net” and savings/checkpoints. The second one you’re actually meant to live off of.

I had a problem with doing. I thought only in terms of capital, in terms of accumulating, saving. It didn’t occur to me *living* was the point. Spending. Cashing in. Experiencing. It took taking an eye off capital and putting one on experience. https://t.co/H0HnuTpBrB
